1. What I’m listening to
When working out, going for a walk or cooking, I love listening to a great podcast. It’s such a nice distraction for the mind while my hands or body are busy. I usually finish with my mind having been blown or a whole new list of items to add to my daily routine. My top 3 at the moment are The Mind Body Green Podcast, The Purpose Show and The Rich Roll Podcast.
I’m obsessed with episode 143: The Truth About Hormone Imbalance by The Purpose Show.
2. What I’m doing to move my body
It is kind of the perfect time to get deep into a home workout routine (if you’re into that). During isolation, I’ve been loving the MadFit Youtube channel with loads of amazing videos including choreographed dance-style workouts which are a lot of fun. An all-time favourite is Yoga with Adriene also on YouTube.
3. Three things I’m doing for my mind
With it being so easy to get caught up in the negativity and fear of what’s happening around the world right now, it’s all the more important to stay on top of our mental health. There are three main things that I’ve been doing to keep the positivity flowing.
I. Inspired by the quote below, one of the mindset switches I’ve implemented is to Romanticize The Ordinary. So when I start to feel blue about not being able to go out to eat, I go all-out serving dinner with pretty garnishes and candles. When I wake up thinking there’s no point getting out of bed, I’ll think about making my morning coffee in my fave mug and how cute and fun the process of making it is. I highly recommend this mindset switch.

II. Only recently have I been introduced to the mindset that you can either let your decisions be driven by fear or by hope and that your actions reflect that which you let govern you. Choosing hope can be difficult but is so important and much more productive in a time of crisis. So I’ve been making the conscious effort to stop and think about what reflects hope when I make choices these days.
III. I follow the Live Kindly Instagram account, they’re regularly posting about positive vegan-related news, inspirational quotes, health tips, cute animal pics, funny memes and more. Their posts often uplift my mood and remind me that there are good things happening around the world too.

4. What I’m watching
As nice as it is to be productive and listen to a podcast, I also just love to chill and watch something that is purely entertaining. Currently, my binge has been The Crown on Netflix. If you’re into period dramas or the royal family at all, you’ll love this show… Thanks to my mum for getting me hooked!
5. What I’m eating
We’re all going out less, meaning no more popping to the supermarket every day and no more going out for brunch, coffee or dinner. I’ve struggled a little bit with cooking because we just moved interstate and I’ve had to start my pantry from scratch without the convenience of having my dear car here with us.
So we’ve been having a LOT of stir-fries, curries, pasta and nachos as they’re all easy dishes to prepare, require very similar ingredients meaning less to buy and they’re full of healthy veg! For breakfast, I’m having avo and lemon juice on toast to get those healthy fats in early.
If you’re after new meals to try out, here are a couple of my most popular recipes:

Great advice. If you are like me, you are still in isolation. I hope you are still doing well.
We didn’t go out much before the pandemic started, and I had stocked up in February knowing that something was going to happen. I just didn’t know how long it would be! But, I figured if I would follow China’s lead and plan for months being inside, which meant a lot of pantry and freezer food was bought. And, I’ve discovered ordering online for groceries and picking up, which is something I will be doing long after this pandemic is over! What a convenience.
Thank you! Here in South Australia, cafes have opened up again and some people are going back to work but for the most part, we’re still isolating as well.
I’m glad you were able to stock up ahead of time, how lucky that you saw it coming. Ordering groceries online has been super helpful for us too, it’s a wonderful system and I’m grateful for it! All the best 🙂
